I have a letter, saying my Australian Citizenship has been approved, as usual I've avoided all financial commitments. The net result is its time to do something different.

A wile ago I watched a documentary "the super rich and us", it included some financial history. It was a British program, its key relevant points were that when CEO pay started shooting up in the 80s, eventually the UK government did a study, well technically they got a bunch of CEO's to do a study. The formally adopted conclusion of this was "Its OK to pay CEO's obscene amounts of money, if its performance related". The largest chunk of company costs is wages, ergo CEO's pay is tied to keeping everyone else's down. The other major point included was the much greater availability of credit since the 70s. So it follows houses are more expensive - ease of credit.

Now CEO's are massively incentivised into keeping everyone else's pay down. People who've a few years invested in a crippling mortgage can't afford to strike or kick up too much of stink. How horrible. Now I know what this feels like, for the past 4 years my visa's been tied to my job, I quit I'm out of the country, I've not taken it lying down, but I have not enjoyed the experience. Its a hell of an incentive, no not incentive, incentive is carrot, this is stick. I am so happy to be free of it.

So I'm off, thinking of an new car, my van's still running, but there's too many bits of Australia you can't reach with out a 4WD. This time I can work, anywhere, without risk of deportation, last time I was on a tourist visa no work, sponsorship, paperwork. Now I'm free again.

My sense of humour has come back, I'm noticeably happier. Look out world. I'm back. Oh and various residents of other parts of Australia, expect me when you see me.
